An injured employee often is often faced with lost wages, medical treatment needs, and related out-of-pocket costs. Workers’ compensation is meant to relieve those expenses, but navigating the process alone can be confusing. My firm strives to provide the guidance injured employees need, especially as it applies to the following issues:

• Filing a claim – Injured employees have a small window to both receive medical treatment and file a workers’ compensation claim. In general, you have to be able to prove you reported the accident/injury to your Employer as soon as practicable, but no later than seven days. If your accident/injury requires medical assistance, you generally have up to 90 days to file a claim for medical benefits. Missing either of these deadlines may block your access to benefits. • Appealing workers’ compensation determinations – If you receive any adverse determinations from the insurance company, the law gives you just 70 days to appeal. I am well-versed in the legal requirements for workers’ compensation appeals and can present your case on your behalf in front of the Nevada Department of Administration, the Eighth Judicial District Court, the Nevada Court of Appeals, and the Nevada Supreme Court.
